At Wild Thing Adventures the owners and staff are passionate about enjoying life and having fun in a safe environment. Wild Thing is a family owned business, run by abalone diver Glen Shackcloth and his partner, freelance journalist Kylie Baxter.
Moored at Watermans Dock in central Hobart, the 11.3 metre Wild Thing makes a visual statement that is to boats what Ferrari is to cars, but the two machines share more than just a strident color scheme of uncompromising red and an exotic price tag.
Wild Thing has a purposeful look, with its three 250 HP Yamaha 4 stroke engines. The vessel promise exceptional speed, the inflatable pontoon gives stability and the neat rows of seats that accommodate up to 26 passengers, are comfortable and secure.
From November — April each year, Wild Thing operates 7 days a week, at least 3 trips per day and is also available for private charter, corporate functions and group bookings including school groups, educational history tours and birthday parties.
We aim to provide you with an experience you will never forget. It might be the short 45 minute trip along the Hobartwaterfront, a circumnavigation of Betsey Island in Storm Bay or a journey to Bruny Island including Adventure Bay, the Totem Pole and the Friar Rocks, home to thousands of Australian and New Zealand Fur Seals. Dolphins are also a common feature on most tours.
